Wintering bees
February 27, 2014
Wintering bees successfully through a tough Maine winter, like this one, has it’s difficulties. Carol Cotrill, president of the Maine State Beekeepers Association, guided attending members of the Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club through the steps necessary for success.
Carol’s love for the honey bee revealed itself in her presentation.
Carol took questions from novice and expert beekeepers. Topics of disease, feeding, winter hive components and even tips on cleaning your solar wax melter were thoughtfully discussed.
Carol will be teaching a beginner beekeeping class at the Oxford Hill Comprehensive High School in South Paris this March/April.
